CTRL key acts as if it's stuck?

Hey!

I'm running Windows 10, and for a few weeks now, it has been acting as if the CTRL key is jammed. I replaced my keyboard with multiple others, and the problem persisted. I read a few forums, and one suggested to press both CTRL keys at the same time, which only worked once. Then, another said to open the virtual keyboard. This showed clearly that the keys were indeed held down, but I couldn't deactivate them from there, so it really didn't help. Are there any fixes to this?

Perform all these steps when logged in from the problem user's account

    Option 1: Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

    Windows Key + X

    Click Settings

    Click Update & security

    Click Troubleshoot

    Scroll down

    Click Keyboards

    Click Run the Troubleshooter

    Reboot your computer

Option 2: Turn off filter keys in Ease of Access

    Windows Key+I to open Settings

    Click Ease of Access

    Click Keyboard

    Ensure Filter Keys is OFF

Option 3: Start your computer in safe mode

Switch on and off your computer 3 times

Now your computer will go into Advanced Recovery Environment

Advanced Options > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options

    Click Startup Settings > Restart

Press (4) to enable Safe Mode

Log in once Windows starts in safe mode

Now see whether keyboard is working

If yes, some program is conflicting with this.

You will have perform this detective work to find out which program

I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Run the Keyboard Troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

If that's not enough go into the Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button, choose keyboard device, on Driver tab choose Uninstall, restart PC to reinstall it

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Then I would run a Repair Install which reinstalls WIndows while keeping your files, programs and most settings in place, by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This will solve most problems and also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
