Logitech Wireless Mouse

I have been using a Logitech M317 wireless mouse for a year or two.  It stopped working recently and I thought it had died.  Order a new M325c from Logitech and I am having the same problem.  The device manager sees the HID compliant mouse but the USB receiver is not working.  The system message indicates the driver cannot be found.

Thanks,

Thank you for the information and posting back.

Since you've already tried all the possible solutions on the links that we and other people have suggested, and you've mentioned that It is a USB problem following an update, we would like to know:

    • Is it a recent Windows update? if yes, have you tried uninstalling that specific update or cumulative update and checked if the issue persists?

If not, We suggest that you try it, you can refer to the steps provided below:

    • Open Settings, then click Update & security.
    • Click View installed update history. On Update history, you can view failed or successfully installed updates and the dates they were installed.
    • Click Uninstall updates. you'll now be taken to the Uninstall an update page on Control Panel. Select the recent update and click the Uninstall button.
    • Click Yes to confirm the uninstall, then restart your computer. For more information refer to this link.

    Keep us posted.

This is not an issue isolated to the actual mouse itself. It is a USB problem following an update that has been posted many times already across message boards. I have done EVERY troubleshooting suggestion possible along with other "solutions" to this fix. I have wasted countless hours. When your job depends on you using a mouse for intricate work, it is debilitating. I have completed a "recreation" of the problem in Windows support and submitted it. Please fix this problem soon!!

PS I bought a brand new mouse and tried 2 corded mice that I know do work...NONE of them work although the USB is acknowledging it. It continually states "Driver is unavailable."

I have also tried the suggestions on this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4091240/usb-devices-may-stop-working-after-installing-the-february-13-2018-upd   with no resolution of the problem.

    Hi Ken,

Not working wireless mouse could be due to the following:

    • Outdated device driver
    • No device driver installed
    • Faulty wireless mouse receiver

We would like to know some information to better isolate the issue:

    • Have you done any changes (like updating your Windows) on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you tried using using your wireless mouse on other computer and checked if the issue persists?
    • Have you tried updating your wireless mouse driver?

For initial troubleshooting steps, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to run Windows troubleshooter:

    1. Type troubleshoot in the search box and press Enter.
    2. Select Hardware and Devices , then click Run the troubleshooter.

If the troubleshooter didn't work, you can check this article about updating your wireless mouse driver.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
