Wide Aspect scaling on 39' Panasonic HDMI DV3 TV slightly over by a margin of about 5%

Split from this thread.

Afternoon Patricia - I've realised that since this happened my resolutions and scaling have become an issue. Has this been reported previously?

I am trying to use an old 39' Panasonic HDMI DV3 TV as my single monitor - which up until a week or so ago worked well and the display fit nicely to the edge of the screen and on the TV I use Wide aspect.

After this reinstall my scaling always seems slightly over by a margin of about 5% - I cant seem to scale down to fit the edges and lose a portion of my windows bar and it seems to cut off evenly around all of the edges.

I've used windows updater to check for drivers - my Pc is completely up to date on that front.

For my AMD MSI R9 380 series graphics card I downloaded the latest version of AMD Infinity to check for software.

In Windows Settings - under display I'm given 4 resolutions that wont work at all - probably because of the age of the TV. So I have connected my Blaupunkt 19' TV which is newer - which has perfectly identified resolution straight away - to enable more resolutions on my Panasonic TV.

Still with me? Probably hate me right now!

I put the TV to its ideal res. 1366 x768 - which should sort everything out - but doesn't. I still have a slightly oversized display on my monitor.

After all of this, the only way to see the edges of my display is to go to AMD Radeon Settings and set the scaling mode to 'centre'. This isn't ideal as I easily lose 3 inches either side and about an inch and a half of the top an bottom - surrounding my display with a giant black box, also just discovered I need to keep my other tv plugged in and switched on!.

Am I missing a trick here or going mad? Any timely help would be so appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

    Hi John,

You mentioned a reinstall on your post. If you're referring a Windows reinstallation, then your display driver went back to its generic driver. We recommend uninstalling the driver and downloading the latest driver fully compatible with Windows 10 on the manufacturer's website. Check the Display settings > turn on/off custom scaling. For more information, you can check this link. Also, you can check the Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization. You can attach a screenshot/photo of your screen for us to have a better view. Feel free to post back if you need further help.
