Keyboard issues - translating my Spanish Keyboard into English characters

I have a Spanish HP running Win 10 Ver 1709 Build 16299 Core i7 processor. Windows OS in English

I do not have a problem with Spanish BUT to actually input (say) the hash symbol # requires alt gr+3,

@ requires alt gr + 2 I am hoping to find the pound sterling symbol somewhere (: and also a quick and easy way to  access page down, page up, Del, = shift + 0and others like them that require multiple key strokes and the memory of a gifted numerically literate elephant.

I prefer if possible to use a Microsoft Windows 10 solution. Is there one please?

Regards

Maybe in a perfect world I could press (say) ? + ¿ to switch between Spanish & Br English.

No, you hold down the Windows key, then press the space bar twice.

Frederick thank you so much - forgive the delay in reply! Is your solution re "holding down Windows key and then pressing space bar twice" all there is to it? Please if you can let me know more and what I end up with, sounds like the answer to my prayers

    again - thank you

    regards

I have two keyboard maps installed: A Swiss German one, and a customised Swiss German keyboard. When I hold down the Windows key and press the Space bar repeatedly then I get the pop-up you see below, and the selection moves between the two items:

Dear Frederik, firstly thanks for your reply. In an ideal situation for me the specific Spanish characters would not exist for this reason: I use Lexibar for when I am writing French or Spanish and the work effort needed to  write passable French / Spanish is minimal, far less than using the alt gr key etc etc combinations, whilst I accept that with sufficient practice I could "get used to them I really don't want to spend that time. My main typing is for communication use between my friends and colleagues in English (Ideally Br English),

As I say, I use Lexicool for Spanish/French written communication. However the existence of a Spanish keyboard with a Spanish Lap Top does have some benefits.

Maybe in a perfect world I could press (say) ? + ¿ to switch between Spanish & Br English

I am open to and grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks for your reply and inciteful question

    regards

-> What would you expect this Windows 10 solution to be? A Spanish keyboard layout with different mappings than you have right now? Or a US keyboard layout with the tilde as a dead key when you need ñ?
