I am using windows 10 on Asus K541U, 6GB Ram, i5-7200U processor upto 3.18Ghz. Recently i noticed in task manager that cpu, memory and disk consumption is very high though no application/softwares are working. To solve this I followed several procedures mentioned in Microsoft discussion page and other websites, also i probably disabled some svhost.exe applications and now after giving restart the login page appears, after entering the password the following loop continues for hours together(i waited for 3hours): "Hi, We're getting everything ready for you. This might take several minutes" and desktop never appears.

    Dear Mayra,

Thanks for the information, i believe that your suggestion has solved the issue, The CPU usage maximum at times is 28% only, otherwise it normally varies between 2-5% which is normal. The disk usage at standby mode is 0-5%, it jumps to 100% if I start AutoCAD or Dialux or probably any software i think, then within 5-10secs it gets back to 10-15% or 5-7% or even lower.

    Hi Jithin,

The usual reason why you're experiencing this issue is due to missing or corrupted system files. Considering that you were able to see your sign-in screen, we suggest that you boot your computer to safe mode.

Here is an article on how to perform it: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10. Kindly follow the steps on From the sign-in screen section.

After successfully booting to safe mode, we recommend performing a system restore. In doing so, you'll be able to choose a restore point to bring your computer back from the time that it is working fine. Kindly check this article and follow the steps under Restore from a system restore point.

Kindly update us with the outcome so we can provide further assistance.

Thanks for the info. I used shift+restart option at login stage and then Reset the PC. Now i have access to the desktop and everything. However the problem of 100% disk still continues even though there is no softwares running other than system generated ones. i disabled "superfetch,  windows search, DiagTrack" . The PCI/ATA/AHCI driver extension is "iaStorA.sys", i changed the value from 0 to 1 in registryr but still no change. sometimes the disk is 100% then lowers  a bit 75%, then for a few seconds at 0-5%.I did various possible fixes read online.  Kindly suggest a solution
