I am assuming that the above is the latest version because I only yesterday downloaded it from the site.
I am editing some MOV files and noticed that replaying the project the starting clips are replayed as blank but the "missing" files return in the output file of the same project.
Is this some sort of memory limitation issue and/or is there a way round this limitation?

2018-03-24T05:22:33+00:00 What do you mean by complete app? do you mean zipped project? It will be huge.
As I mentioned the final rendered movie out side the project work space is fine but some of the selected clips are replayed as black screen with only audio within the project work space.
Black screen seems to be the number 1 issue with Movie Maker and I wonder why it hasn't been sorted out like other editing software developers have. The latest issue is 2012 and since then things have changed and other editing software seem to have managed to sort out such issues or at least provide proper error message where Microsoft seems to have just given up with movie makes.

One quick check to make sure it is a valid installer from Microsoft, prior to running it is to right click on the icon and click on properties. Go to the Digital Signatures tab and you will be able to verify that this file is indeed the original file released by the software publisher (i.e. Microsoft Corporation) and not altered by a third party.
Furthermore, if you click on the Details tab, you will see additional information confirming that the publisher is indeed Microsoft Corporation. If you find any files that do not show Microsoft as the publisher, DO NOT INSTALL the file as it is not the original.

Movie Maker 2012 (16.4.3532.0331) was retired in 2017 so isn't available from Microsoft. You can find out more at the following link:
