I really need to uninstall all the excess garb from my pc to have enough room hopefully to install the new windows 10 update. This is a new pc so I shouldn't have to purchase a new one with extra memory to satisfy the need for security! Any help would be appreciated.

To uninstall XBox, you will have to use Powershell as Windows Apps & features will not allow you to uninstall default applications.

Windows Key+X > Windows Powershell (Admin) > Copy the below, paste into Powershell > Enter

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers *XboxApp* | Remove-AppxPackage

But to create space on your computer, I will suggest following as only removal of Xbox and some applications may not give you sufficient amount of space.

    1. Use Storage Sense to delete unnecessary files

Type Storage in Windows Start Search Box > Click Storage > Click Change how we free up space > Down below there is button Clean now under Free up space now which you should press

    1. Use Disk Cleanup

Type Disk Cleanup in Windows Start Search box > Click Disk Cleanup > Check relevant options (you can also clean system files)

    1. Analyze disk space

You should analyze your existing space with help of third party softwares and remove un-necessary files

    TreeSize Freeware version - https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

WinDirStat (Released under GPL license) - https://windirstat.net/download.html

    1. Check for log files in CBS directory

Go to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS > Check the size of CBS.Log and if size is huge >

Type services in Windows Start Search box > Click Services > Scroll down to find the Windows Modules Installer service and double-click on it > Set its startup type to Manual > Reboot your computer

Go to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS > Delete all of the files in the CBS folder > Reboot your computer > Then go back into the Services App and set Windows Modules Installer Service back to Automatic Startup

    1. Microsoft has also some suggestions to improve disk space.

Hi Heidi. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

If there isn't an Uninstall button in Settings > Apps & Features for an app it is because to uninstall it can cause system instability or unintended consequences.

So if you still want to uninstall Xbox, I'd set a System Restore Point and save a System Image backup first so you can go back easily one way or the other:

Then here are steps to uninstall Xbox manually: https://winaero.com/blog/how-to-uninstall-and-r...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
