I have Windows 10 and an HP Deskjet 3050A printer. I can't print anything. When I go to devices and drivers, it doesn't show my printer. What can I do?

    I assume you have 10 64bit

    go here and download this.

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-3050a-e-all-in-one-printer-series-j611/4311836/model/5061081

Now if it was connected before on any PC's, WIRELESS,  I would go to your network icon on taskbar tray on all pc's and disconnect them.

If you are also or only connected on one PC with USB, then unplug USB from PC and power off printer.

Now you have to go to

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features

and uninstall the previous (if you had it installed before) uninstall the program for your printer

    now restart your PC.

now install the program you downloaded and follow instructions. Make sure you select to share printer if you want other pc's to have access to it.

    restart pc

now if you connected printer to PC with usb, then you should be all good, just go to

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers

and select your printer as default

if you connect any pc;s wireless, then go to your network icon on taskbar tray on all pc's

when you see the printer in the list, select it and enter encryption key and select to connect at logon or stay connected.

now I would reboot modem, unplug power 30 seconds, plug in power, when connected to internet, restart all pc's on your home network.

I only have free reader. I took a PDF file and did not even open it. I just right click on it and selected print and it printed.

so you can print them, just cannot do what I mentioned earlier.

oh and also about the PDF. if you have not paid for Adobe online services or acrobat pro, then you will never save as PDF.

to view PDF files, you can download free adobe reader.

then if you have the adobe reader to view the PDF to print it, and your document is showing in adobe reader, I think you can then print it, but you can not save a scan to pdf unless to pay for adobe. you can scan to pdf and it will show in reader, but when you go to save it, no chance, you have to purchase acrobat.

if you have adobe or Microsoft office, you can scan anything, but if you have office, scan and save as a word doc.

after you save the word doc, open it and select to save as PDF. Now you have it in pdf, and can view it in free reader and maybe print, can't remember.

I added my HP Deskjet 3050A printer as the default printer, but the when I try to print, it says I need to save a PDFfile. Then it still won't print.
