To update drivers for devices, open Device Manager by signing in as a profile with admin rights (You can't update drivers without it), clicking Start (The Windows logo in the bottom-left corner of the screen), then type Device Manager. In the list that pops up, Click Device Manager (Not Devices & Printers). Once you're in Device Manager, look for the device you want to update drivers for. Once you find it, right click on the device, then click Properties in the list that pops up. In the Properties window, click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver. Follow the instructions in the window that pops up. Hope it works. :)

While Windows is much better now at providing drivers correctly than it used to be, it's still something of a crapshoot.  I've seen many times when Device Manager said that no more recent driver was available when there was a more recent driver available, and there are still times when a laughably incorrect driver will be offered.  Get drivers from the hardware manufacturers' websites whenever possible, and whenever it's actually necessary to update a driver.

    Hi,

You normally only replace/reinstall drivers if you are having a problem with the existing ones or you require newer features that a newly released driver for a particular device would give you.

A lot of released drivers have never been updated since the year that they were released, but the devices they are for still work correctly.

You should obtain your Driver Software from your Computer or Hardware Manufacturer, not through Windows Update (except for Microsoft Hardware Updates), as Microsoft normally does nor have those latest Drivers available as Microsoft relies on the 3rd Party Hardware Manufacturer to supply them.

Go to your Computer or Hardware Manufacture's website > Driver and Software Support Section > look up your Computer or Hardware Model number > then your Operating System > locate the correct Drivers > download and install them.
