Out of curiosity how do you think the video controller driver became missing?
If the system used to work properly what do you think happened to it since the last time it dis work properly?
Do this so we can see what you have:
What is your system make and model or is it something assembled from separately purchased components?
If the system is a Dell what is the Service Tag number?
If the system is an HP what is the serial number?
If the system is an Toshiba what is the serial number?
Click Start, Run and in the box enter:
msinfo32
Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All (Ctrl-A), Copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.
For video device and driver information, expand the Components, click Display, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here.
There will be some personal information (like System Name and User Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted information.
Click the Start button/orb and in the box enter:
devmgmt.msc
Press the Enter key to open Device Manager, expand the Display adapters section, right click the display device, choose Properties and on the Details tab choose Property, Hardware IDs.
Right click the fist line, choose Copy then in your next reply paste (Ctrl-V)the value like this example:
You should post back somethinbg like this example:
Example: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6779&SUBSYS_80901462&REV_00
In your next reply relay the entire content of the first line of the listed Value section.
