Which Suitable/Compatible Graphic Drivers for Windows..... for Dell Latitude E7440

Hi There

Please advise which type of Graphic Driver/s is/are suitable for Dell Latitude E7440 Laptop running Intel Core i5 4310U and HD Graphics 4400. The machine originally came with W8.1 Pro, and now running W10 Pro.

My confusion when visiting Dell as against Intel's support sites was finding the latest Drivers from Intel but only for W7 to W8.1 while Dell gives it for W10 as well.  But, in between the two, they don't match.

Or, the other uclear question is whether I should update the Graphics Drivers at all..... very ignorant of all these stuff... sorry... Thanks.

    Intel Driver (released 11/6/17)

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27267...

Dell, may contain enhancements specific to dell latitude (release date 19 dec 2017) or checked and signed by Dell.

    http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/...

to add to your confusion both are 15.40.xx.xxxx, I currently have 20.19.15.xxxx (dated 16/10/17) installed, obtained through windows update.

and to the last part of your question, are you experiencing any problems? if not don't worry about it, stick with the driver you have.

if you are experiencing issues or (want to update your driver) get windows to check first.

right click on start and select device manager

    expand Display Adapters

right click on HD Graphics 4400 and select properties

    select the Driver tab

    click the update driver tab.

select search automatically for updated driver software

if that does not solve your issues please provide some details of the problem you are experiencing.

Hi Dave, after considering both your's and Martmcd's advice below, I've decided to not doing anything with the Driver search. The simple reason is that the display on my PC is very good and running without any issues as of today.

I would like to thank you for your spot on advice and help. If I had opted it, it'd have been equally effective and very good, I'd say. So, thanks again to your kind heart. God Bless you.👌✌

    Thanks so very much Martmcd.

Did the Device Manager process.  It said '.......... the best Driver for this device is already installed' with a courtesy suggestion,'there may be better drivers on Windows Update or on the device manufacturer's website'.

With the above and hearing you have the latest Driver from the Windows Update, I tend to stay doing nothing about it. This is also for your query on 'any problems?'

So far, I've had no problems. The FHD graphics/display is extremely good. I enjoy the details reproduced in the screen so, was somewhat keen on keeping it up at the optimum level!

Thanks again Martmcd, that was a 'decision maker' advice indeed. God Bless you. 👌👍🙏

Hi Dave, thanks for the quick response. This is where I got confused in the beginning. I was wondering if the Driver meant for W7 & W8.1 would be OK with the current W10 status.

This is what prompted the Q. But I got lost to clarity this point. I'm sorry. So, what you're saying is that it should be compatible with my PC.

I'll take a look at another response from Martmcd and decide which way to go. Thanks again for your kind advice.
