hi there,

I would like to know if it is possible to modify the parameters of the search bar incrusted in the task bar of Windows 10 in order to make a search only on the PC instead of the worldwide web.

Is it possible ?

Hi DJ, no don't mess with that key!

I forgot to mention, if WIndows Search does not exist you need to create it . . .

    Go back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

Right click the Windows Key in the left Pane and choose New - Key

    Name that key Windows Search

    Click on that new key

Then in the right pane, right-click on any empty space and choose - new - 32-bit DWORD

    Name that new DWORD: ConnectedSearchUseWeb

Then double click that and set its value to 0

Close the registry editor and restart your PC for the change to take effect!

Hi DJ, that can be done, it requires a registry fix:

Click your Start Button type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor

In the left pane, naviagate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search

In the right pane, right-click on any empty space and choose - new - 32-bit DWORD

    Name that new DWORD: ConnectedSearchUseWeb

Then double click that and set its value to 0

Close the registry editor and restart your PC for the change to take effect!
