Depends on which specific update folder you are talking about. These articles describe deleteing (equivalent to renaming) some of the folders associated with Update

follow the instructions in this page:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/...

If that automated process does not help, go to this page and follow the manual process he documents:

    https://askleo.com/fix-windows-update/

You can download the batch files he provides to speed up the process. As he says, they are text files so you can easily verify that they only do the manual commands listed in the article. (I trust the site and his suggestions, including the scripts. I have subscribed to his newsletter for a very long time, he does very good work)

    Hi,

I am Sumit, an Independent advisor and a Microsoft MVP here to help.

First of all, eliminate all useless files on C:/ by using Disk Cleanup.

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3012-open-u...

Make sure you have checked System files option after the first scan.

    Also,

Treesize should tell you which files and folders are taking up the space.

    https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

It is worth checking the Users folder and its subfolders with it.

Please let us know if you need any assistance.
