Not everyone is on unlimited data plans and it would be helpful to  file size in order to schedule downloads of large files when my data plan has just turned over, and also when I'm in the middle of important work I don't want my computer to stop as a large file starts downloading "automatically".

So my question for Microsoft is can you give me

  1. The file size along with the download info and,
  2. The choice as to when I want to download it??? so it doesn't stuff up my use of the computer and my data plan???

Thanks

I am not a mug!!

Hi,

The size of the updates are different. If you want to check the size of a specific update you can go to http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx and search the KB number of the update. Windows Update always shows the KB number of the update.

If your Internet connection has a data cap, you can turn on set your connection as "metered" so that the updates of Windows 10 will not automatically download. You can enable metered connection by following the steps here.
