Neat 5 crashing in Windows 10

I had long suffered the problem of Neat 5.7 scanning software crashing sometimes and since the Fall Creator's Update for Windows 10 it would ALWAYS crash before it fully loaded. Neat legacy support is pitiful. I seem to have solved this by running a clean install of the 5.7 software with any AV turned off and syncing software (ie OneDrive). I then ran the Compatibility Troubleshooting Tool on the neat.exe file AND what I believe really did the trick was to run the Neat Support Center, going to Advanced tab and deleting the existing database (after renaming existing database folder to Neat Data.old). I also turned off the sync options since everything I scan in is saved to OneDrive anyway. I opened the Neat program again and created the new database. I then closed it and restarted my PC and now the software runs beautifully! I hope this helps somebody else!
