Hi,

I am unable to connect my Sony headphones after I accidentally unpaired them.

Till now I have tried the below solutions:

  1. Went to device manager, tried updating device driver --> it says it is up to date.
  2. Went to device manager, tried uninstalling device driver/device and resintalling --> No difference
  3. Tried restarting my headphones.
  4. Tried Re-setting my headphones. (I know how to do it for my headphones - all the pairing data was deleted for all the devices)
  5. Tried restarting the bluetooth services in the end, no difference.
  6. Ran troubleshooter, to see for problems in bluetooth or hardware devices. still facing the same issue
  7. Charged up my headphones to 100% and tried. Same problem

Symptoms- I start my headphones and put them in pairing mode. The bluetooth does not show them on the page itself. So I go to add device and it does show the headphones in the list  but when I click on it, after a while it says "couldn't connect, please try again" in yellow.

Does anyone have any potential solutions to this?

These headphones are Bluetooth headphones, so not sure about the unplug/plug part of the instructions. I did go to device manager but I do not see the headphones connection anywhere as they are not pairing with my laptop. I did however scan for hardware changes but nothing shows up.

My problem is.. I switch on my headphones--> put them in pairing  mode--> go to bluetooth settings and expect my laptop to discover them as a device available for pairing so that I can click and it and voila it is connected.

    What actually happens,

I switch on my headphones--> put them in pairing  mode--> go to bluetooth settings and It DOES NOT  discover them as a device available for pairing --> then I try click the Add Bluetooth device button on top and it does show the headphones but do not connect to it.

Current status in the network connections shows this:

Where I expect the headphones to appear:

Well, I do not know if that is just disabled it or uninstalled the driver.

So go here and select View tab>>Show hidden devices.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items>>Device Manager.

or in Cortana, Type in Dev and it should be on the list and select it.

Look in the list of audio and sound and see if it is there with no red or yellow flags.

Then unplug the head phones if it runs off a dongle in USB port and plug back in and see if it detects and installs driver.

Or click on the scan for hardware icon button.

If it is a disabled issue, then in Network and Internet>>Status select change adapter options, right click on it and select to Enable. Right click again and select connect.

You will be directed to available networks which is located in Network and Internet>>Status, Which you can connect here or,

Which will also pop up task bar as your Network Icon in Tray is also where you can see available discovered connections and devices. Click on it to connect to the internet with the encryption key.
