I am having a problem printing multiple PDF files in Windows 10

Hi, I watched a good tutorial about how to print multiple PDFs without opening them one by one. It said to open the print queue and drag the files into it. (there are only 12) This didn't work and I was given the error message 'This file cannot be printed. Please try opening the file with the correct application and printing from there'.

Interestingly when I dragged and dropped a word file using that technique it briefly opened the word file and printed successfully. So it's somethingto do with the pdf format I guess.

I then tried the drag and drop technique with just one file to see if that worked. It didn't. I then investigated on here and a moderator suggested making a shortcut to the printer which I have done. It wasn't clear how to do it after that but I had a go, nothing doing!

Can anyone please help? I'd be very grateful! Thank you.

Yeah there doesn't seem to be a menu bar at all. Let's punt on that for a moment.

I was just able to highlight 2 PDF's on Win 10, right click, and print both of them. I've attached a photo. the drag and drop bombed out, but right clicking worked like a charm. I'm wondering if we can try that again.

Good night, and we'll chat tomorrow!

    Hi Antonia,

Would you be open to trying a different method of batch printing?

Highlight the PDFs you need to print. - Ctrl+a will select them all, or you can hold down ctrl and select the PDFs you want. Right click on one of them and try to print.

See if they send to the printer. If that doesn’t work, try 6 instead of 12. Then 3 instead of 6.

    Let me know!

Charlie, You're a genius. Just tried this on some home stuff. IT WORKED. AND the drag and drop worked as well!! I am so happy. Thank you so much. If I can leave a review somewhere please let me know. It warms me to know there are people out there who help others for nothing. THANK YOU.

    All the best.

    Antonia

Ok, so that is definfely the Windows pdf viewer.

Before we make your default pdf viewer adobe, can you try to print multiple docs from your desktop? Maybe copy a few from drop box (network location) to your local machine. This may help!

If it doesn’t work, go into settings - apps - default apps. Make adobe reader your default pdf application.

When you do this, see if a pdf opens in reader, and we’ll go from there!

Let me know! I’ll be here

Thanks for replying Charlie- much appreciated! I tried 12, 6, and 3, no joy I'm afraid....Not even a flicker, and no error message either.
