Do I need McAfee Security Scan Plus if I already have Windows Defender Security Center to protect my pc ?

I have Windows Defender Security Center that contains McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall on my pc. I also have McAfee Security Scan Plus which came packaged with my pc when I bought it.  I was told by someone who was fixing my computer that I do not need to have McAfee Scan Plus in addition to Windows Defender. The McAfee software is due for renewal, and I am thinking of not renewing if I already have necessary virus protection through Windows Security Defender. Do I still need the McAfee Security Windows Defender?

Windows Defender is a full security program. You do not have to pay for protection. You will want to remove McAfee ciompletely when the time comes.
