first in devices and printers, uninstall the printer if it is there

unplug printer from PC and power it off

go to control panel >programs and features and uninstall the printer software

    restart pc

now go to cannons website >drivers and support

put in your model # LBP 3200 Laser Printer

then if it has windows 10 drivers get those, if not, get the drivers and software for win 7 or 8 and download.

now on the installer file, if it it is for windows 10, just install it.

if it is for windows 7 or 8 you downloaded, then right click on the installer file and select compatibility mode and select to install for that windows version from the download.

    follow printer install instructions.

    restart pc

    it should work fine.

If you still get message connect the cable or can not detect printer and if you installed it properly (Drivers and software) From what I see on Canon, which is odd when it comes to drivers, because I have got every device to install and run in compatibility mode since Vista. My printer has XP or Vista drivers and installed on 7 and 10. But I guess it will not work on Windows 10. Also the following applies too.

USB 3.1 is backwards compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, except in the following scenarios:

USB-B 3.1 cables are not compatible with USB-B 2.0 ports.

Unless you use an adapter, USB-C ports or cables will not work with USB-A or USB-B ports or cables.

Devices that require USB 3.1 transfer speeds of 10Gbps might not work with USB 3.0 or USB 2.0, or you might experience lower transfer speeds and impacted performance.

Bus-powered USB devices that requires more power than what USB 2.0 can provide are not compatible with USB 2.0.

Also, I downloaded the 2 files, the software file is a zip file.

You can right click on it and select open with>>>explorer to view the EXE installer file. But I would extract it first if you have a program to do this.

WinZip sucks because it is bloated and keeps things in its program

the Free extract now is the best small app to extract files

I show mine which is 10 years old and I still use the older version.

Go here to download and install. once installed, restart PC and just double click on the zip file. Make sure zip is set in the options as shown.

Hello again. I tried your every steps for installing Canon Lasershot LBP3200 in win 10 64 bit. But I failed. The .exe file of win vista is not even running in compatibility mode for win 7 or 8. I request to do the same process of installation on your machine so that If I make any mistake will be resolved.

Thanks for reply. First of all the Canon LBP 3200 has a 2.0 usb port and my laptop contains usb 3, I am not sure whether it's compatible with higher speed or not. Because in troubleshooting it's showing to attach with a usb 2 port. Second there is only a win 7 32 bit driver available in canons website. But after unzip its showing a vista folder. I don't know whether it will work with win 10 64 bit or not. But definitely I will try it with compatibility mode which I totally forgot.
