I keep hearing that Microsoft has stopped or will stop making Windows based phones, but I see they are still sold on the Microsoft website. What is the truth about Microsoft and their phones? I currently use a Windows 10 based phone, made by Alcatel and was thinking of buying a different Windows phone.

Microsoft discontinued production of all mobile phones 2 years ago. The production facilities are sold off. What you are seeing on sale are the last stocks.

Windows 10 Mobile is officially dead since November 2017. I do not see why you would want to buy another Windows phone.

Microsoft phones are easy to use and the operating system logical to use.

No one has argued that they are not. Unfortunately that does not mean that Microsoft phones are still supported (support for the last ones ends in 3 months) or that many apps and services are not already discontinued.
