Hello, I have purchased an XBox One Wireless controller and connected it to my PC Via. The controller is recognized and discovered in the Device Manager, but Xbox Accessories App does not detect the controller. I cannot update my controller firmware for I do not own (nor want) an Xbox One. so I cannot update it via XBL. I do not have a Wireless adapter or Bluetooth adapter so that cannot be done either. What else do I have to do to get this controller to work?

No none of the above options helped, I have seen that link passed around the internet in different forums and websites. Non of it works. As I stated I do not have wireless or bluetooth. My controller is connected Via USB Micro (the cable that was included in the package)

The Device Manager detects my controller, but the drivers that the controller installs upon connecting to the PC do not work. I have tried previous drivers, rolling back drivers, uninstalling drivers and restarting and reinstalling. I spent 75 dollars on this controller, a Microsoft controller, that should be compatible with  Microsoft Windows 10. But for some reason every update screws something in a prior update.

Hello Aaron. I am a fellow community member here to help if I can.

I am a little confused as to whether your controller is wired (as stated in your question title) or wireless as stated in your question.

In any case here is where you can find info on running the updates via your PC

If you go to that link and select Update via PC you will see that there is an option to connect via USB cable as follows

Update your controller on a Windows 10 PC by using the Xbox Accessories app:

Get the app from Microsoft Windows 10 by searching for "Xbox Accessories."
    Launch the Xbox Accessories app.
Connect your Xbox One Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
Note You'll be prompted to update to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition if you haven't yet done so.
When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.
Note You can also go to Device Info to check for an update.
