I hope you meant a  free anti-malware program.

Are there good ones? You bet. Lots of them. But only you can choose the best one for you. Search the internet for current reviews and read the reviews from professional organizations (vs. YouTube stoners.) Since they're free you can try them out. Then pick one that appeals to you.

There is MalwareBytes which is an on-demand scanner.

It may offer you a free trial of the pro version, if so it’s your choice what you do, after the trial it will revert to the free version.

    Hi Paula,

Nearly all the Security companies provide a free version of their software, which is comparable to the paid for iten

As for which one is best, that is really a personal choice . . .

I use the Free version of Avast Anti-virus for 2 reasons - It provides great protection and it does not slow my system down at all

Malwarebytes free is the most recommended, but you will have to manually run scans and keep it updated.

I also keep an updated copy of the ESET Sysrescue offline scanner on a USB thumb drive. Its Linux based and excellent scanning and cleaning hard to remove malware, adware and viruses outside of Windows.

Malwarebytes is what is trusted by Windows experts, though there are many others.

    Malware Bytes - https://www.malwarebytes.com/

    Few other freewares are

    RogueKiller

    RKill
