I've gone to settings and it will only allow me to control sensitivity from most to low, not off. Please help.

    Option 1: press Function key + F8

Option 2: open Start > Settings > Devices > Touchpad > toggle off Touchpad

    Option 3:

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Human and Interface Devices

    Right click HID-compliant touch pad

    Click Disable

Most laptops have a function key to turn off/on the touch pad

on the Lenovo ideapad Z400 it is Fn+F8 (hold the Fn key and press F8).

if you would like to tell us the model number I will look it up for you.

Yes - I found the toggle button (F6) and an image glowed on screen letting me know the touch screen was now off. Now I can type and not worry about accidentally swiping and erasing or re-positioning the flashing line in the middle of a paragraph unknowingly. Thanks E for Excel and everyone else for such quick replies!!

Windows Key+I > Devices > Touchpad > At the top, there will be toggle key for Touchpad which you set to OFF.

The below tutorial also covers in a video to do this

If above doesn't work, let me know your model number and also attach the screenshot as I have attached.
