Windows 10 update failed, recovery & repair not working

The latest Windows 10 update (second update for May 2018) was supposed to restart several times and failed about half way through following a restart. The system recovery (blue screen) did not accept any roll back points or advanced troubleshooting options regarding the start-up.

Following several failed attempts I had to boot from an ISO USB boot disk to repair Windows 10 in order to save my precious data. After the install/repair completed I am now stuck at a black screen with HP logo that reads "getting ready" with circling dots which never end. I ran the repair twice both times with the exact same results.

The second to last update temporarily broke my PC and this latest one broke it entirely. The recovery options did not work & neither has the USB boot disk repair option. This PC is only 9 months old, was in good working condition prior to the update crash & I know how to install/repair Windows using a boot disk (including the bios changes). Please help!

System specs:

HP Laptop model: 17-bs011dx

Intel i5-7200U (2.5GHz)

8GB DDR4 SDRAM

1TB HDD

Purchased (brand new) in August 2017

Have you tried to reset your computer while booting into safe mode

Power ON your computer and as Windows / manufacturer's Logo appears, Power OFF - Repeat 3 times

Now your computer will go into Advanced Recovery Environment

Advanced Options > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC - Keep my files and Remove everything. Choose this carefully as most likely you would like to keep your files.

All apps will be removed and windows will be reinstalled.

Do let me know if you have any more question or require further help. I would be happy to work with you to take you though this problem.
