Windows 10 - Internet Explorer is missing

I've tried looking under Windows Accessories, searching with Cortana, searching file system for iexplore.exe, and adding under "programs and features".  It seems that IE is missing from my computer as I don't find it in any of those places. I also tried opening a page with Microsoft Edge and then clicking on the 3 dots and choosing "Open In Internet Explorer" but nothing happened.

nothing seems to work in opening or installing Internet Explorer.  Please advise.  Thank you very much.

    I found this though - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie...

Just in case somebody else stumbles across this thread (I did):

The Creators Update removes the 'Internet Explorer' entry from the 'Turn Windows Features on or off' menu in the old Control Panel. Various people have reported that it may also remove iexplore.exe itself, on systems where it was previously installed.

To reinstall the Internet Explorer, you need to use the new 'Windows Settings' app: the one that is represented by a cogwheel and uses the new 'Universal Windows Platform' style.

    These are the steps:

    1. Launch the Windows Settings app.
    2. Click on Apps.
    3. Beneath the heading 'Apps and Features' there's an entry called 'Manage Optional Features'. Click on it.
    4. A new menu opens. Click on 'Add a Feature'.
    5. Internet Explorer 11 should be among the options. Click on it.
    6. Wait briefly, then reboot.
    7. The Internet Explorer should now be installed.

Let me know if this works!

Another thing you can try is, open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features

    Click Manage optional features

    Click Add a feature

    Choose Internet Explorer 11

    Wait while it downloads

    If that does not work...

    Please attempt the repair upgrade:

No.  I do not see Internet Explorer there.

    Thank you for your response.

If that is already done, can you check this location for me:

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer - and see if the folder has IE in it.

    Thanks!

    Hi EA,

When you go into Programs and Features, on the left, do you see “Turn Windows features on or off“ if you click that, do you see “Internet Explorer 10”

If so, is it checked off? It’s so odd it’s not there.

    Let me know!
