Don't get sucked in with Tech Utilities to download there error repair tool, once you pay for them to fix your errors ( I allowed them to fix the errors

by remote as I'm not tech savvy) they will not let you go , they try to up sell their repair service . When I said no thanks they would not hear of it.

I told them I'm a 74 year old pensioner and did not have the money they wanted , they just would not hear of it. It got that bad that I puled the

land line out of my modem because they where writing in my notepad on my computer by remote how much money it has cost so far and how

much I could save if I would let them continue .

So people be careful , don't get sucked in !!!

If you allowed them remote access to your computer there could be more things to worry about. Consider the fact they may have copied malware to your computer to allow them access at any time. They could be watching now.

Look in Apps and Features to be sure there are no recent programs installed, change Sort by to Install date to see the most recent. If you are not sure about the programs listed then post them here and me or others could advise you.

The best way to sort a possible breach will be to clean install Windows 10 to your computer, but you may need help with that.

Tech Utilities is a borderline scam site!

With a slight problem signing into a well used Google site I searched for a solution; a page purporting to be Microsoft approved came up with how to solve my problem. Download this app! Yes simple so far then to access required to register with a code. On line panel was not functioning so I reverted to the obvious help panel and was connected to a technical assistant. This is where problems started!

Rapidly I was told they required to access my PC as it appeared to have faults. I allowed this and numerous screens and scans then took place lasting for almost 30 minutes. I was told that there were over 1000 errors which needed fixing and the cost was to be over $200.

I explained that I was an 80 year old pensioner and could not afford that and was subjected to a very hard selling pitch to up-grade. I baulked and refused then disconnected.

The plan I signed up to and paid was for $29.95: from my bank they took $71.91 which included VAT which is not a tax applicable to NZ. There is no way to stop or reverse the payment.

This morning I contacted a relative in the legal profession, YOU UNMITIGATED TWIT! You have been scammed! A quick check by him showed nothing had changed, Tech Utilities had done nothing at all that he could find and the initial problem was still there. He wrote a brief note to Tech Utilities asking for a full refund; "Don't think we will get a reply, I think you have to write this off" and contact the government anti corruption people to tell them too, they may be able to take the site down.

I paid $29.95 for the installation.  Does this mean they will continue to charge me?  I better see how to cancel.  Unfortunately I fell into the same trap.  :-(

Greetings Bill,  I have also signed up with Tech Utilities. and Support

They have taken 4 payments so far and cut me off from contacting them direct,

This cost $338.00 Australian for 6 months and this was 2 weeks ago.

After reading what they have done to you, I will be checking my system also

as my computer is running just enough to log in (It take about 5 Mins)
