    You can check over here:

    Go to your Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options.   Then click on View tab and scroll down till you see the line 'Hide extensions for known file types'.   Uncheck that box.   You may want to also go through that whole list there and see whether all the settings are as you want them.

    Try this:

    In Windows Explorer click on “Tools” in the menu bar

    Select “Folder options”

    Click on View Tab

    Uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types”

    then OK to exit
