    Hi conan007,

It's possible that there are multiple devices listed on your computer which is causing conflict in detecting your scanner. To help you sort this out, follow the steps below:

    1. Press Windows key + R, type control then press Enter.
    2. On the Control Panel, under view by: select Small icons.
    3. Click on Devices and Printers then under Printer section, remove all the devices listed except for the scanner that you are using.
    4. Restart your computer.

If the issue persists, create a new administrator account.

    1. Press Windows key + R, type control then press Enter.
    2. On the Control Panel, under view by: select Category.Click on the Add or remove user accounts then click on the Create a new account option.
    3. You will now be at the Create New Account screen. In the New account name field enter the name of the new account that you would like to create. Type in the account name of your preference then select Administrator. Once done selecting a name and the type of account you wish to setup, click on the Create Account button.
    4. Restart your computer then log in using the new profile.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi conan007,

I'm glad that the resolution provided by the previous agent worked for you. I recommend that you perform the method below to restore and fix corrupted system files in your old user account:

    Method: SFC scan

System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Refer to these steps to perform an SFC scan:

    1. Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu, type Command Prompt or cmd in the Search box.
    2. Right-click on Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Yes.
    3. At the command prompt, type the following command: “sfc /scannow” and press enter.
    4. After the process is finished, restart the computer.

Give us an update on the result and we will be glad to assist you further.

    Hello Marie Ave,

Thank you for your information first.

After I tried the first method, removing other devices, the issue still persists.

Then I tried the second method you recommended, create a new administrator account. The scanner works well. May I know how to restore the old account? Thanks.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    The first method I tried:
