It's possible that there are multiple devices listed on your computer which is causing conflict in detecting your scanner. To help you sort this out, follow the steps below:
- Press Windows key + R, type control then press Enter.
- On the Control Panel, under view by: select Small icons.
- Click on Devices and Printers then under Printer section, remove all the devices listed except for the scanner that you are using.
- Restart your computer.
If the issue persists, create a new administrator account.
- Press Windows key + R, type control then press Enter.
- On the Control Panel, under view by: select Category.Click on the Add or remove user accounts then click on the Create a new account option.
- You will now be at the Create New Account screen. In the New account name field enter the name of the new account that you would like to create. Type in the account name of your preference then select Administrator. Once done selecting a name and the type of account you wish to setup, click on the Create Account button.
- Restart your computer then log in using the new profile.
