Best Practice Memory requirements for Exchange 2019 Edge role

There is a lot of misinformation floating around for the memory requirements for the Exchange 2019 Edge role. I find learn.microsoft.com indicates 64GB is the minimum. When I run the HealthChecker it recognizes the Edge role and indicates 128GB is the minimum, I believe this may be an oversight. One common outside source indicates 6GB is recommended for the Edge 2019 role which I believe may not be correct but does closely match with real-world numbers.

When I look at a heavily loaded Edge server servicing 500 or more users with the recommended 64GB, I find it rarely consumes more than 5GB and 8GB cache. These actual memory use statistics aren't anywhere near 64GB.

Is 64GB actually a realistic requirement for the Exchange 2019 Edge role and if so, does anyone know what possible scenario(s) would cause Edge to use any significant amount of it?

I don't think that is realistic, no. And I don't run the Edge role with that much. 8GB has worked in every version of Exchange I have used for that role.

I worry more about disk space and ensure I will have enough to handle the que database.

Remember, 64GB is not a requirement, its "recommended" :)
