How to undo "undo paste" in Windows 10?

Yesterday, I moved all the pictures from my Android to my laptop.  Today, I deleted some files in a completely different folder, then decided I wanted to undo, so I clicked "undo".  Nothing happened, so I clicked "undo" again - but this somehow undid the paste of the pictures from the day before.  And now I have no idea how to get those pictures back, because there is not "redo" option enabled.  Obviously, it didn't put the pictures back on my Android - so where are they?  Are they really gone for good?  I can't imagine Windows would let you do something irreversible so easily by mistake (well, maybe I can imagine).  Thanks in advanced for any help with this!

Yesterday, I moved all the pictures from my Android to my laptop.

-> Bad move. It violates the iron rule that irreplaceable files must at all times be stored on two independent media.

This somehow undid the paste of the pictures from the day before.

-> Use System Restore Explorer (free) to restore the files from System Restore.

Thanks.  But will this work if there is no restore point containing those files?  Like I said, I copied them over only yesterday

It will only work if you have a restore point that was created between the "move" and the "undo". Otherwise you will need to use one of the many "undelete" tools.
