So a 4 year old computer is not compatible with Windows 11? Used Windows exclusively up until the Vista mess. Then switched to Mac. Glad my primary computer is a Macbook Pro...........

I have this processor also with high spec components, and have been able to enable TPM support in BIOS.
TPM 2.0 shows as active under Security Devices in Device Manager. So what is the issue? .. if my MSI MB supports TPM?

I have this processor also. It's in a 2017 Apple iMac 27" Retina 5K running Ventura 13.3.1 (the most current macOS as of May 2023) I have Windows 10 installed through Boot Camp. (a dual boot, not VM). When in Win 10 I check to see if I can upgrade to Win 11. I am told no. So what. 98SE, XP, 7 were all great. ME, Vista, 8 not so much so. I'm still using 7 on a couple of boxes and an XP box I haven't fired up in a while. I haven't yet decided on 10 so maybe it's so, so. Do I want or need 11? For why? I'm just happy my mac is using intel instead of M1 or M2. Odd how the free OS Linux runs on almost anything...

The lack of support for my relatively high end config and also relatively recent significant investment: i5 7500 - Nvidia GTX 1070 and 16 Go of hi speed ram + hi capacity SSD is the reason why I switched to Apple MacBook pro M1 + now iPad M2 and iPhone and will never come back to Intel/Microsoft nor android operated devices.

So, I guess Microsoft decided to make Win11 their most expensive OS ever. My perfectly good Lenovo Thinkcentre Intel i5-7500 cpu desktop that meets EVERY Win11 requirement (including TPM 2.0) is not compatible with Win11 solely because the Gen # starts with 7 instead of 8. We will NOT be spending over $500 (more to get an equivalent PC) solely to get Win11. Win10 is out LAST MS OS and Linux, ChromeOS or Mac is therefore in our future.

Microsoft did not clear the Intel 7th generation processors for Windows 11 compatibility even after having had a re-look at the processors family for Windows 11 performance.

Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 will only officially support 8th Gen and newer Intel Core processors, most likely because they have an integrated TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip.

Hi LeonLaude,
Intel processors have had integrated TPM modules (PTT) since their 5th gen processors. Do you have any knowledge on the matter? Cause making unnecessary hardware upgrades to well built PCs doesn't make sense. In my opinion, it seems the most likely answer is that Microsoft wants customers to buy new PCs. This TPM issue makes no sense, if you want people to buy new models just be straight about it...
There's no more official information about this, but note that the list is not final and may be subject to change still.

Intel i5 7500 have an integrated TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip.
I'm in the same situation with my 3-year-old laptop and I don't understand why I should buy a new one - and pollute the environment with more electronic waste.

As of this writing, i5-7500 is not in the list of compatible processors for Windows 11. You can continue using Windows 10 for now, until your processor is assigned as compatible for Windows 11. You can also drop your feedback to Microsoft via Feedback hub app.

In case your system doesn't meet the requirement for the Windows 11 and you are running Windows 10, open start and search for feedback and open Feedback Hub app and report this issue.
