split screen chrome two tabs bug

I start with a full screen window with two or more tabs (this is window 1). From window 1 I drag out a tab and move it to the edge to use split screen (this is window 2). As soon as I let go of the window 2 (the tab) it gives me the option of the window I want to have on the opposite side of the screen. I can select window 1. When I select window 1 it is on one side of my screen. However, window 2 takes up the whole screen again. How can I fix this so that it split screens properly?

Seems to be a known issue with Chrome:

This is a currently known problem with snapping Chrome windows in Windows 10, and you can add a STAR to the following issue to be notified of updates to bug fixing:

https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detai... - UI stops updating when multiple Chrome windows are snapped to the left/right in Windows 10

I think some workarounds include dragging the snapped window back into windowed mode, or installing a theme for the Chrome windows.
