What is the RIGHT PROCEDURE to REMOVE Dell Bloatware

Yes, I know this a a MS forum, but I don't want to screw my Windows 10 system up by removing/uninstalling all of the Dell bloatware in my system.

I have a new Dell Laptop, Windows 10 Home, about 2 months old.  My old system died and I did not have time to order a Dell Precision computer, which I understand does not contain any Dell bloatware.

Anyway, I am finding Dell stuff all over my new system and do not know how ingrained this stuff is in the Windows 10 system -- and am a little worried about going in and just bulk uninstalling everything with a Dell name on it.  [Another reason that I want to remove the Dell stuff is that I am getting a Windows Service Start Failure error that a lot of posts I am seeing attribute this error to some of the Dell support-ware stuff.]

So I just wanted to check if there was a step-by-step procedure to follow in removing the software without affecting the Windows 10 system.

So any help, direct or references to other people doing this would be appreciated.

Thanks.    ron in round rock

    Hi Ron, you can safely uninstall the following:

    Dell Customer Connect

    Dell Digital Delivery

    Dell Help and Support

    Dell Product Registration

    Dell Support Assist & Remediation & Agent

    Dell Update

    Dell Update - SupportAssist Update Plugin

    Hi Ron, I would leave those in the drivers section, they will be small and not use your system resources . . .

    With regards to Power Manager, I would also leave that service alone as that may be required for the good running of your system, Dell systems typically have some very specific parts that may require power management . . .

    What you could do to remove it and get only Windows 10 running is do a clean install.

    But that will wipe all you apps not just Dell.

    So make sure to back up your data.

    Link below from Greg Carmack on how to do this.

    Other than that like you said you can just remove anything pertaining to Dell from Add and Remove programs and you should be fine.

    Just create a restore point first.

    TO do that go to search and type Create a restore point.

    Then click Create.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi roninrr2, I have a Precision and believe me it did come with bloatware . . .

    With regard to removing the Dell Bloatware, the only quick way to do that is to clean install Windows 10 and a full set of drivers, I gather you do not want to do that . . .

    Please provide a list or screenshot of all the Dell bloatware that is listed in Control Panel - Programs and Features and I will advise you on what can safely be removes and what you need to keep for the good running of your system . . .

    Dave,

    Sorry about my bloatware comment.  My brother-in-law says his business uses Dell Precision computers and that his business computer did not come with any Dell bloatware.  I am glad now I didn't pay the extra for the Precision guy.

    OK, here are a couple of Snips:

    ================

    ==============

    ====================

    I recently  found a DELLSUPPORT entry listed under "Available Drives" in my System Protection Tab -- have no idea what that is, but like I said, I am finding the Dell stuff all over the place.

    And you are right. this is a new system and I have just got it up and running, so don't want to go through that again if I really don't have to (i.e. would rather, hopefully-safely remove the Dell stuff).

    [I should say "just-about" got it up and running - having trouble with Carbonite backing up the local Onedrive files.]

    Anyway, if I EVER get a new computer, system again - the first thing I will do before anything else is do a clean install.  Wish and don't know why that never occurred to me at the time.
