I have installed the Canon MF 635C via wireless to my Dell Laptop (64 bit, Windows 10). The printer works, but the scanner doesn't. (It does though, on my daughters Apple! Maybe time to change!)

Ok, not sure if you have this app or not - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/windows... - windows scan for windows 10 - download and give it a shot.

If no dice, go here - https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_produc...(64-bit)&language=EN

And download / install the driver labeled:

    Windows 64bit] MF635Cx/MF633Cdw MFDrivers (UFR II / Generic Plus PCL6 / PS3 / FAX / ScanGear)

    Download: 0100855801

    Release date: 21 March 2017

The scan portion may reinstall and help it out!

    Let me know!

Thanks!  Have tried (and retried and reretried) the Canon drivers to no avail, but the Windows Scan now sees the scanner & works. So not the Canon multifunction app, but at least I can scan!

    best regards

    Hi Lou,

I can tell you, you aren’t the only one having scanning issues with Windows 10. I’m not sure is causing this but I’d love to try to help.

    Let’s try a few things.

    • check for updates. Let’s see if you have any updates waiting to be installed thay could clear up the issue. Settings - update and security - updates
    • windows troubleshooter - click start and type “troubleshoot” and it should pop up. Open it and choose hardware and devices and run the troubleshooter. It may fix the scanning issue.
    • Click start, type “cmd” - right click and run as admin
      Then type:

    sfc /scannow

And hit enter. This may clear up any system corruptions causing this problem.

    • click start and type “services.msc” open it.

Right click, stop and start all the services below.

    Remote Procedure Call RPC
    DCOM Server Process Launcher
    RPC Endpoint Mapper
    Shell Hardware Detection
    Windows Image Acquisition (WIA

Reboot. Give the scanner a shot.

Let me know and we’ll go from there!
