Network Folder doesnt show all Subfolders [solved]

Hello

I am using Windows 10 Home and the other PC where the files are stored runs on Windows 10 Pro Business.

I added a Network Folder to my PC a few weeks ago. (Gave Access on another PC and connected with the Network Adress)

The Folder is quite big, 30GB now. It has 65 Subfolders but only 60 are showing up on my PC.

I checked that all the subfolders have access too, but it seems the Network Folder doesnt update new folders and files anymore.

I restarted both computers and tried to re add the connection but newer folders arent showing up.

If somebody can help I would be grateful, thank you.

    Hi elMuro,

This seems like an odd one, and it may be like a guess and check type of deal, but I’d love to troubleshoot with you if you want.

So the share connects, and within that share are 65 sub folders, but only 60 show...

Let’s look at those folders and see if there are any difference.

Go into share properties of that folder, and click on Advanced Sharing, then Caching, Is this option on or off? "No files or programs from the shared folder are available offline"

If no dice there, pull a folder that can be seen, and one that can’t, and look at advanced sharing side by side, Make sure they look identical. Might as well look at the security tab as well.

Let me know if this helps! We’ll figure it out!

Per coincident I landed on the network drive from the host pc.

There I found a folder that had the same name the shared drive has but with a 2 at the end.

    Like \PC"sharedfoldername"2

I dont know where the 2 comes from but this folder contains all subfolders.

    Hi C

Thank you very much for your effort.

I am using a german version of windows, so its possible I have other names for functions, but I will try to stick as close to english as possible.

But it didnt work out, yet.

I compared the properties for subfolders that show and do not show. They are identical.

The caching options in Properties>Share>Advanced Sharing are all greyed out.

I tested what happens when I check "Share this Folder", but it I couldnt notice any difference.
