Cannot Use Samsung Xpress SL-C480FW Scanner/Software Issues after Microsoft's recent Windows 10 version 1803 update

It has been a month since I didnt use my scanner. Yesterday after trying to use it I kept getting the following message :

I/O error while communicating with the device. Please wait and try scanning again. If it does not help, please turn the device off, then switch it on and wait while it warms up.

After following the above without any success, I did uninstall all software, drivers, printers. Reinstalled them, used different usb cable and port but the result was the same.

I can scan through windows but the easy document creator doesnt work anymore and gives the above error message.

I did lookup on the internet, many people seem to have the same problem after the above windows update.

Also did contact HP, that is the new owner of Samsung printers and was told that HP has escalated the matter to microsoft, since it did happen after the recent update.

HP claims is microsofts problem not their.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well I do not know if this printer/scanner was introduced before Windows 10 and might have drivers and software for 7 or 8. But if so, I would download and install for 7 or 8 with those drivers and software in compatibility mode.

I have yet to fail to get any printer/scanner to work on any OS with current drivers or older drivers using Compatibility Mode. I am literally talking about thousands of them over the years.

So for easy document creator with errors, what is the error code. Windows defender could be the culprit. Look in event viewer, it will tell you the error code and why it fails.

I would even try to install that program in compatibility mode for windows 7 or 8. First uninstall and restart pc, get drivers for that for 7 or 8 and install if OEM has them.

    Good Luck.

I had tried already all this.

I used NAPS2 for scanning and this work fine

The problem only comes from the provided software Easy Document Creator. I used NAPS2 for scanning and this work fine.

Thank you.I had tried already all this without any difference.

Using Windows Scan application for scanning which works

Easy Document Creator is still the problem as it does repeat the same error message even after following the uninstalling - reinstalling steps you mentioned.

    HI!

    Printer: sl m2675

    OS: Windows 10 32bit 1803

Same error After upgrade, Easy Document creator I/O error when I want to scan. ScanToPC same error!

Driver uninstall/reinstall NOT resovle this problem.

I think: something block Samsung WIA driver or Samsung WIA driver not compatible with 1803!
