Well, that probably means your network adapter does not support connecting to 5 GHz networks then.
ncpa.pl
I am still having a problem getting windows to recognize a new network on my computer. A new modem/router from Centurylink was installed a few weeks ago and it worked fine. It is a 5G network that I have named TPPINC2013-5G. My old network is visible TPPINC2013 (without the 5G). My computer was sent to Dell for a repair and when I got it back it would not connect to the new network. The message I get is that "windows cannot find ncpa.pl". I have rebooted the "new" modem several times , still does not show up. It is working fine in our phones, tablet and iPad. It i just my main PC that I'm having this issue with. Please help.
Thank you,
Jim Thomas

2018-04-13T19:18:18+00:00 System SKU Inspiron 1545
Windows version - Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.371)
It was installed prior to the current version.
Please note: The access to the 5G network worked just fine before sending the system to dell to repair broken parts. The hard drive should not have been affected by these repairs.

2018-04-13T18:30:03+00:00 Unfortunately, it did not. I also attached an Ethernet cable to my modem to see if it would show up there but to no avail.
This has me stumped. Hopefully, you have more suggestions for me to try. Thanks!
