Driver Support Stopped Working error message.

Small pop-up window saying "Driver Support has stopped working and windows is looking into it"  I have been getting this message from time to time for at least a year.  All devices are working properly.  My computer does not seem to be affected by this.  What does it mean?  Should I just ignore it?

Sounds like some rogue snake oil third party driver software updater.

Click Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features

Look through the list for any entries for suspicious software

    Select it then click uninstall

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Task Manager > Startup

Look for any suspicious apps that might be starting up with the system.

    Select each then click Disable

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: msconfig

    Hit Enter

    Go to the services tab

Check the box, hide all Microsoft services

    Disable the remaining services

    Click Apply then OK

    Restart if prompted

Reset all your web browsers to their original factors state

In Microsoft Edge - Click Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Edge
