Wait... when did the b and n stop working? Randomly? After an update?

You are more than likely using the generic windows keyboard driver, since the laptop doesn’t have drivers anything past vista.

A test I would run: grab yourself a USB keyboard, maybe you have one lying around, or a friend can loan you theirs for a moment. Plug it in, and see if the keyboard functions normally.

    Hi Papa Dave,

What Microsoft Keyboard is it? https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/dow... - if you look at this page you’ll see a ton of models. If you can tell me what one, we can find the correct driver and move forward with removing and re-adding the driver.

That being said, it’s unlikely driver would cause the b and n to no work, it may be hardware problem.

Find me the model and we’ll figure it out one way or the other!

That is an older model laptop, and the driver page https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservic... - has vista listed as the most updated drivers...

We could go into control panel, and uninstall the keyboard

Click start and type “Device Manager” - and select it from the list of results.

Expand Keyboards, then right-click on driver listed, and uninstall.

On reboot it should reinstall... but being that it’s Windows 10 on a 10 year old laptop... it may not. Personally, I would roll the dice to see if it cleared up my b and n issue, because it SHOULD reinstall.

Let me know what you think.
