Recently purchased a new Desktop PC and installed Windows 10  and i am having difficulty connecting a second monitor, all the troubleshooting guides i have looked at so far say right click on desktop and go to " Display Settings" firstly that option is not available when i right click.

I then go via the menu to settings and choose " Display" troubleshooting then tells me to click on the " Multiple Display" drop down menu and select the desired option, my issue is i dont have a drop down menu, all i have under Multiple Displays is " Older displays might not always connect automatically. Select detect to try and connect them" when i press " Detect" i just get a pop up saying " Didnt Detect another Display" hope someone can guide me to a solution, i am not very PC savi so it might just be a simple fix . Thanks Glyn

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Display adapters

Right click the current display adapter

    Click Properties

    Click Driver tab

Click Rollback driver if the option is available

    If not

Right click the current display adapter

    Click Uninstall

Check the box that says, "Delete the driver software for this device.”

    Exit Device Manager

    Restart

Go to Start -> Settings -> Update & security, then Check for updates and install any available updates.

    Press Windows key + P

    Click PC Screen only

    Disconnect the external monitor.

    Restart.

    Connect the second monitor.

    Press Windows key + P

    Click Extend

See if it starts working again.
