Windows Store App Icons missing only while searching

When searching for app names from the search menu in Windows 10 the icon is missing or corrupted.

The icons in the start menu appear fine.

I have tried the following:

And probably a bunch of other things I can't recall at this time. Nothing has fixed the icons.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? It appears to only be related to the search function and not the actual icons showing in the start menu.

I haven't found any way to reset the cache related to the search.

    That is something, David.

Good day! Fortunately, I fixed mine changing the icon scale (Mine was at recommended 100% so whatever yours are I hope will apply to what I did  too) from 100% to 125%. It didn't fix it so I just changed it back to 100%, and by my surprise, it was fixed!

OMG!!!! you guys! its so stupid xD

after a couple hours of trying like 15 different things i think i might have actually figured it out. dont ask me what prompt me to try this but go ahead and change your resolution to say like 1080p and check the icons xD omg i still cant believe that worked. keep changing resolution while working your way up. eventually set the resolution in your pc to the highest or recommended and check again!

i cant believe thats all it took. *facepalm

    cheers!

Something similar worked for me. I was able to fix the issue by setting "Show thumbnails instead of icons" to true in "Performance Options" and then changing the display scaling from 100% to 125% and back.

Uninstalling Google File Stream followed by deleting all the contents from the following folder was enough for me to fix both the missing icons in the Taskbar (caused by Google File Stream) and the missing icons in search (corrupt Cortana cache):

    C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_########

As a side note, if you have Windows Bash installed, you can delete the folder without having to create a new profile. The command after you are inside the *C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages* is:

    sudo rm -rf Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_*
