how to connect my computer Acer Aspire to TV using hdmi cable

I have followed all directions very carefully, but still cannot connect my computer to my tv, although I use a hdmi cable.

    Is the HDMI cable securely connected? Sometimes it can be loose. Check to make sure the cable is not frayed and its plugged into your computer and your TV properly.

    After doing, that press Windows key + P then click Duplicate or Extend.

    Sometimes you need to restart to make sure it is detected.
