Hi,

I cant make the F1-12 keys default on a Microsoft Nano Transceiver v2.0

The default is the previous (F1), play/pause (F2),next (F3), sleep (F4) and so forth.

Why would someone make it so is beyond my reason.

Although I found the same topic...:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfpro3-surfhardware/can-i-please-change-fn-function-key-default/6e504917-dcc7-4c27-b95f-cdbb9a0943c7

... the solution (Fn+CapsLock) doesn't seem to work (nothing happens).

Any suggestions? I would really like to have bought a usable keyboard.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Teodor,

The Multimedia Keys and Function Keys can be interchanged. However, methods for interchanging them depends on your device OEM and keyboard. The most common method is using the Fn Lock key. Toggle the Fn Lock on and the keys will function as if you’re holding down the Fn key all the time, just as the Caps Lock key makes your letter keys function as if you’re holding down the Shift key all the time. Devices use a dedicated Fn Lock key, and if you don't find one, you may have to press and hold the Fn key and then press Fn Lock (secondary to another key, Esc for example) to activate it. Some keyboards may use other combinations to toggle Fn Lock. For example, Surface devices use Fn+Caps Lock.

    Reference:

Another method is to change it via BIOS or UEFI configuration screen and once again, it varies from device to device.

This example is taken from a Dell laptop
