Hi

My headphone jack's tip broke inside port. Now sound is not playing through internal speakers as windows recognized as headphone is connected to laptop.

My configuration:

Dell Inspiron gaming  7567

Windows 10 version 1803 ( OS build 17134.112 )

I need help to disable headphone jack detection so sound will only play thorough laptop speakers.

Thanks

Bhushan

I have only one option listed under playback devices ( Speakers/ Headphone )

If I disable that then there is no sound at all

Hi Bhushan, there is no setting in Windows to fix this, you are not going to be able to fix this yourself, there is a tiny switch inside that headphone socket that needs to be released.

If you cannot get that tip out, you will need to get a repair man to do that for you

Open Start, type: change sound card

    Hit Enter

    Select the Playback tab

    Right click your Speakers

Click Set as Default Device if it isn't already

    Sorry that happened.

Down on your taskbar where you see the speaker right click it and select playback devices.

Select your speaker and set them as default. Does that even work?

If not then right click your start button and select device manager.

    Go to Sound.

See if you can see your headphones and then right click them and select uninstall device.

Both solutions you will probably have to keep doing because Windows plug and play will keep trying to enable the headphones. Sorry.
