One might think Microsoft would have it constantly updated and displayed on their homepage or in some similarly prominent location . . .
The question was asked and answered on Mar 21, 2016 in a thread that is now locked, but was supposedly updated April of THIS year. The version number listed there is obviously very early.
This is a security relevant question, because I (and many others by the look of it) are constantly being bothered by their computers about a much needed upgrade or else support will expire (you know, the same BS we got when we were forceably migrated out of our earlier working OS and into 10 by the same methods), but the upgrade when accepted, repeatedly (in my case for years) fails. HOW are we to know whether these pop up upgrade needed screens are even real or just another scam enabled by arcane invisible processes enabled by buggy OS software? One important clue would be if we knew we were already running the current version, right?
Windows update started manually finally after much manipulation shows my system as current (no updates available) at 10.0.10586 build 10586 (this from the system information window), but just now the pop up opened, threatened end of support and when permitted tried once again to download and install upgrades it thinks are necessary, but failed and had to roll back to my presently installed (and working just fine) version. (And, by the way, I have tried EVERY solution listed on the upgrade support pages, basic and advanced, and have run the upgrade troubleshooter. All this several times in the past year with no apparent success.)
My only hope is that the software itself isn't as full of bugs as the upgrade system obviously is. And one wonders if the software were made better or perhaps simpler with out so many hidden functions in the first place before being sold, would the whole periodic upgrade and security vulnerability problem not go away altogether or at least made less complex and costly.

The question may have been simple, but the answer you provided is to some other question.
The question that needs answering is what is the current build numbers for the Insider Program, organized by track and bit type (32 vs 64). I, too, would like to know the answer to this. I have been delayed in getting my builds by recent classroom obligations. Now that I am back in the game, I find myself downloading one build after another. Knowing the build I'm heading for might help me determine whether or not to get this long update or to put it off and get some work done, then finish up tomorrow or next week or ...
What gave you the idea that the original question was about Insider builds? If you're interested in Insider information, why would you not post your question in the Insider forum?
