Using Macbook Air as Second Display

Hello,

I am trying to use my MacBook air 13inch as an additional monitor to my Dell Windows 10 Laptop.

I have a HDMI to Thunderbolt wire and have connected the two.

When I go to Display settings there are no monitors displayed.

I have updated my display adapters and installed the latest update and still no devises are showing.

What do I need to do to get this to work?

Thanks

No problem. If I had other suggestions to offer, I would.

Good luck moving forward, and if you have anything else I can try to answer, feel free.

Have yourself a wonderful weekend, and please leave a positive review if possible!

    Thank you!

    Hi Sophie,

While the 2 physically connect, I’m not sure (doubtful) that the macOS will allow the windows PC to detect it as a display.

I’m not even sure there is software to accomadate this task. The only thing I can think of is a Remote Desktop app that allows you to remote into it but that doesn’t really help...

Have you seen this done before? Let me know!

I feel like the native settings for windows/macOS won’t do this.

This link is a couple years old now, but check this out:

I feel like we’re going to have to find a 3rd party software to get this going.
