Installing Forza Horizon 3 from previously installed files

Hi,

A couple of weeks back, my PC was running kinda slow and I wanted to reinstall windows 10 on it. So I backed up all my steam games using its backup features and I couldn't find a similar option for windows store. So I asked someone from tech support how one should go about with this. I was told that all I had to do was copy the files from the installed directory (C:/Program Files/WindowsApps/Microsoft.OpusPG_1.0.119.1002_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe). Now when I try to run the forza_x64_release_final.exe I get an error (Windows cannot access the specified device, file, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them). I set the ownership of the entire directory and sub-directories and files to my name.

I then tried to copy the backed up files into C:/Program Files/WindowsApps and I got an error saying "Your organization does not allow you to place files here".

Is there any way to use these files to install the game? Internet is not cheap, fast and unlimited where I live and re-downloading 50 GB of data is just not ideal and enjoyable.

Thanks,

Ashwin

Sorry for the delayed response. I apologize that the previous post wasn't what you needed. I believe the following guide will meet your needs. It involves beginning to download the game from the Windows store, then pausing the download and copying the backup files back to the proper location on the new drive

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, but the solution you gave me is for repairing a broken instance of the store app. My store app works fine and I just want to reinstall forza horizon 3 using my previously backed up files
