etoken.dll error message

I am getting an error when my computer running Windows 10 Pro starts up stating that my etoken.dll file is missing or damaged.  How do I correct this?  Other than this error message which pops up twice right after I log in everything seems to be operating fine.

Hi Ruch, this is not a Windows dll file, so there must be some software on your startup looking to load that file . . .

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

Click on the Startup Tab

Check for any non-essential software listed there

If it is, select it and click 'Disable'

Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list check for any non-essential software listed there, uncheck any you find

Click Apply and OK

Restart your System and this annoyance will be gone . . .

    Hi Rich,

There seem to be quite a few fixes out there for this etoken.dll, but I’m not familar with them, so before we entertain those routes, let’s try Ccleaner.

Download and install Ccleaner - https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download

After installing, run the registry tool. Run the registry tool until there are no more fixes to be made. Reboot, and see if that error appears.
