If the update won’t be installed or continue, you can do an alternative way of updating by performing an in-place upgrade installation by using the Media Creation Tool . Using this installer will always get the latest version of Windows 10. The latest build is April 2018 Update (version 1803).

To know how to do an in-place upgrade, you can visit this link: How to: Perform a Repair Upgrade Using the Windows 10 ISO file and follow the instructions given by out MVP Andre Da Costa.

You can also watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BWh0YRmnT8 for step by step instructions.

Let us know if you need more help regarding with this in-place upgrade process.

Hey, i seem to have a problem with installing a "2018-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1709 for  x64-based system (KB4103727)". Whenever i restart my PC nothing happens it just restarts normally without installing updates. And Legacy Components still don't work. :/

At this time, we recommend running the Direct X Diagnostic Tool to see more regarding the specifics of your computer. This is to determine if your video card and sound card are both working properly. To do so, follow these steps:

    1. Press Windows + X.
    2. Click Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    3. Type dxdiag.exe, then press Enter.
    4. Wait for the diagnostics to run.
    5. Once finished, click Save All Information…
    6. Copy the text and include it to your response.

We’re looking forward to your response.

Hey, my graphics card is AMD Radeon HD 6670. I downloaded new driver and installed it but, when i go to the "Turn Windows features on or off" and check the legacy components and DirectPlay box and restart my PC, it's still unchecked after restart. Is there anything more i can do to solve this problem?

    Best regards.

    Hi zSnekxYT,

Legacy Components (DirectPlay) are components of DirectX. What is the graphics card are you using? Can you update it manually?

To do this, you need to visit their official website and download its latest drivers. Install this driver to your computer and you will be able to enable it from Windows Programs & Features again.

Then, do your re-installation method again just like what you did in - **Turn Windows features on or off.**Make sure that you're using the Administrator account on your computer.

Let us know if you need more help.
