Need help with RCA Cambio Windows 10 tablet

Upgrade to Version 1803

on RCA Cambio W101 version 1

As you have already found out, Windows Update cannot automatically upgrade your 2-in-1 tablet to Version 1803.

The only way is to install a clean Windows 10 (make note of the Windows x86 or 64bit).

Your RCA Cambio W101-1 only has micro-USB. So you need a micro-USB to USB small cable to connect your USB drive.

You will need a USB of at least 8GB. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56485

to download the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool. The tool is easy to use. Just follow instructions as you go along.

The download page will show Windows 7 downloads which is OK. Just make sure you get the right language (en-US).

As you install the Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer-en-US, it will show that it will install your version of windows.

All you will have to choose is what type of media you will use, DVD or USB.

Your Windows 10 version will download {just make sure about x86 (32bit) or 64 bit}

When you are doing the Custom Installation, do not format any of the hidden drives which you will see.

Just pick the largest size drive and put the new installation onto that drive. The installation will take care of the other drives.

After the installation is finished, do as much Windows Updating as can be done. Wireless Network drivers will get installed by the installation.

Then go to https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AD754vvBPy3xz8Y&cid=1833E694C864699B&id=1833E694C864699B%21149823&parId=1833E694C864699B%21149822&action=locate

Drag & drop out of the zipped (compressed) folder and get ready for the miracle.

Go to SlimTab_8_MS > TP driver > WW34 > Installer > PlatformInstaller > Setup.exe (always click continue when asked about providers)

and select YES whenever asked to install something.

P.S. Check in your Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Information > Processor, to make sure you have a Z3000 series processor.

You will now see every one of your firmware drivers installed.

There will be only one Bluetooth driver called "Microsoft Bluetooth Protocol Support Driver" missing.

Do Not be concerned. I believe that driver installation took place during the FALL of 2017 upgrade.

Now your Upgrade to Windows 10, Version 1803 is complete. Hope you did not already buy another 2-in-1 Tablet.

By the way, I use 9 of these RCA Cambio W101 Tablets. I have them mounted on a large enough peg board.

I use them for trading FOREX. I did not feel like purchasing 9 more tablets. This solution will probably work for the RCA Cambio W101 Version 2.

Do not know for sure about this solution working for the RCA Cambio W101 Version 2. Just look and make sure that your Processor is a Z3000 series.

Upper right, search for MediaCreationTool1803.exe. Download it and run it to download and copy onto your 8GB USB flash drive.

Just stick your USB flash drive into your USB and go to your Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Restart now > Use a device >

and look for the USB that you have plugged in. If you do not see your particular USB flash drive, roboot and go there again. You will eventually see it.

It should boot into the Installation. It could take a while. Have patience for at least 20 minutes.

If the PC was Upgraded from Windows 8.1 then the native Product Key is embedded in the UEFI firmware chip on motherboard. When you upgraded the PC was assigned a permanent Digital License to reinstall Windows 10 as often as you want.

Just skip the Product Key and follow these illustrated steps in this link which compile the best possible Clean Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.... I would wait a few days until the latest Spring Creators Version is released so you don't have to depend upon buggy Windows Update to deliver it, and because the Clean Install is by far the best delivery method.

I recommend you use the opportunity to file a feedback regarding this issue so the problem can be fixed in time for the final, official release. After which, I would proceed with rolling back.

Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery > under Go back to my previous version of Windows 10, click Get started.

Press Control + Alt + Delete

Click Sign out

At the Sign In screen, hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen

Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart

Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears

Click Troubleshoot

Click Advanced options

Click Go back to the previous version of Windows

Do not know why they would refer you to my listing. Could it be because you have a RCA Cambio W101 ??? If so or otherwise, the only way I would ever take care of a virus was to reinstall Windows with a new Windows installation. If you have not been using you computer much and do not have too much valuable information on it, then the best way is a new installation. Before you do a new installation, get your Product Key so you can activate your new installation. If you want to do a new installation, let me know if you need guidance.
